How do I define a macro in Quartus?

Question / Issue:
I want to be able to define a PROJECT1 macro for conditional compilation, such as
`ifdef PROJECT1
....
`else
....
`endif

This can be done inside your Quartus Settings File <project.qsf> as shown below:
set_global_assignment -name VERILOG_MACRO "PROJECT1=1"
